What is a 'Name Only' account?
CandiNet, an ICANN accredited registrar, announces an exciting new account
called 'Name Only'. A Name Only account is different than your current CandiNet
account. In Name Only you register a domain name and park it with CandiNet
(on our DNS only), that's all the services you'll be able to get to. A Name
Only account is perfect for purchasing defensive domain name registrations
or registering your new ideas at a very low cost. All the other services
CandiNet has to offer including domain name management, DNS, URL redirection,
email forwarding, a free 10 page web site, Name-Your-Phone, and Name-Your-Computer,
are not available in a Name Only account, until you activate the Domain
name(s) for a $4.99 fee.
How do I get the full service set CandiNet offers on 'Name Only' Domain Names?
Get CandiNet's other services including domain management, rights to change WHOIS information, rights to transfer away from CandiNet, rights to PUSH your domains to another CandiNet account (called 'Activate' for Name Only accounts), DNS, URL redirection, email forwarding, free 10 page web site, Name-Your-Phone, and Name-Your-Computer when you pay the 'Activation' fee of $4.99, at which point the Domain Name will be 'Pushed' into your regular CandiNet account. If you never fully activate your Domain Name you never have to pay the activation fee.
Can I have email forwarding or change my DNS host settings in a 'Name Only' account?
No. You first have to activate the name and pay the $4.99 fee associated with the activation.
Do I have to pay the $4.99 if I never activate the Domain Name(s)?
If you never activate your Domain Name you never have to pay the activation fee. You pay the fee only on the Domains you activate by moving them into your regular account (commonly known as Pushing in a regular CandiNet account).
How do I get started?
- Open a new account at www.WebEstates.biz. (even if you already have one)
- Send an email to Sales Office asking for a Name Only Agreement.
- Fax back the signed agreement.
- CandiNet will convert this new account to a Name Only account. An initial purchase of $495 in domain credits is required.
- That's it. Once we convert the account you are ready to go.
I already have an CandiNet account, do I have to open a new one?
Yes. The pricing and services are different in the 'Name Only' account.
Can I 'Transfer' a name into my Name only account?
Yes. It works the same as your other CandiNet accounts.
Can I 'Push' a name into my Name only account?
Yes. It works the same as your other CandiNet accounts.
Can I transfer or push a Name Only domain name away from my account?
Yes. After you 'Activate' the Domain Name and pay the $4.99 activation fee (per remaining year).
What if I sell a name?
You must activate the domain name and pay the $4.99 activation fee (per remaining year) before it can change ownership.
You can activate and push the name directly to the new owner's CandiNet account LOGIN if you like.
Which TLDs can I register in a Name Only account?
Currently, 'Name Only' is available for .COM .NET .ORG .BIZ and .INFO.
How do I activate a domain name?
- First, Log-in to your 'Name Only' account. (you should see the 'Name Only' logo at the bottom of the Navigation bar).
- Go to the 'My Domains' section and click on the Domain Name you want to activate.
- At the bottom, in the 'utilities' section, click activate. You'll get a confirmation message that you will be charged the $4.99 (per remaining year) activation fee right away.
- Enter the LOGIN name of the account where the name will be pushed, and click "submit".
- You're done.
